Tier C — Electric / cordless cultivator USA Est. 1993

EGO Power+

A premium battery brand; its cordless cultivator runs on the same 56V batteries as its mowers and other garden tools.

EGO and Chervon: the company behind the 56V cultivator

EGO is part of the Chervon Group, a company established in 1993. The EGO brand itself launched in Europe in 2014, creating cordless outdoor power equipment, and its cordless equipment is powered by the 56V Arc Lithium battery.

For soil work, EGO offers a battery-powered multi-tool cultivator, which we list as the Power+ CTA9500E Cultivator. In the UK, EGO works with a network of approved service dealers, and it offers domestic users a 5-year warranty on all tools and a 3-year warranty on batteries.

For a buyer, the value depends on whether you already own EGO 56V batteries. If you do, the cultivator is an addition to kit you already have; if you do not, count the cost of a battery and charger before comparing it with a petrol tiller. The warranty terms above are for domestic users, so check the terms if you would use it commercially. On a used cultivator, ask how old the battery is, since the battery warranty is shorter than the tool warranty, and check what other parts of the multi-tool system come with it.

EGO Power+ CTA9500E Cultivator

Battery · Front-tine · 1 kW · 24 cm

EGO has no standalone wheeled tiller; its real cultivator is the Power+ CTA9500E, a 3.9 kg multi-tool attachment for the EGO PH1400E powerhead on the 56V battery system. It drives a 6-tooth hob (4 blade assemblies) for an adjustable 21/24 cm working width to 21.5 cm depth at 210/240 rpm, with a debris guard. Attachment weight (3.9 kg), working width and depth verified via EGO; the priced item is the attachment only (it needs the PH1400E powerhead + battery to run).
